BlueGlass Travel and Safety Outlook: Mexico

Construction of exclusive private homes and luxury hotel accommodations by well-known international developer One & Only could increase travelers and residents to the coastal areas near Mandarina, Mexico.

U.S. State Dept. Travel Advisory: On January 11, 2018 the U.S. State Department issued a strict travel advisory for five Mexican states long plagued with drug cartel activity. The advisory puts the states of Tamaulipas, Sinaloa, Colima, Michoacan, and Guerrero on the same level as war-torn countries like Syria, Yemen and Somalia. The advisory did not include Nayarit, the State in which Mandarina is located.

Year to Date Reporting: On March 2, 2018 a US doctor visiting Puerto Vallarta was beaten and later died. Prior to this incident, an initial review of 2018 global news headlines yielded zero mentions of cartel activity, violence, or murder in Mandarina and Puerto Vallarta .

Follow the U.S. State Department travel advisories and exercise caution. However, relative current risk for travelers and investors in Mandarina is assessed as low.
